This walking biscuit girl looks like the little match seller in the famous story that we all read when we were kids. There is only one, but very major difference between the two of them; Noor was very real, and she used to sell cookies to feed her blind father!
The girl who lived in Azaz, north of Aleppo, was her blind father’s eyes. She begged people in streets and neighborhoods in the harsh winter, to buy the biscuits, so she could make a living for both of them.
Noor has no different story from the little match girl’s. The only distinction between the two tales lies in the terrible facts that made their lives! The little match girl escaped the cruelty of her father, but Noor tried to escape poverty, selling cookies after her father and she lost everything when the whole world abandoned them. The world which allowed the criminal to kill and displace people, treated Assad as a victim, and Noor as a terrorist.
Today, Noor died of a car bombing in the City of Azaz, north of Aleppo, leaving her father blind again with no one to show him the way.
The car bomb has not killed Noor; it simply killed humanity once again; humanity that was unable to grow the conscience of the world, while this little girl was selling cookies in streets, and other children were attending school.
The girl who no one knew about before, martyred today morning to meet other children killed under the eyes of everyone in this unfair world, just like the little match girl met her grandmother.
The story that made everyone cry, will soon turn into a story of Arabic and international act of conspiracy against children all over the world.
