Idlib- Horrya Press:

Idlib Governorate is witnessing an unprecedented security chaos, appeared in increased abductions since last April. Most of the abductees were humanitarian and medical workers, which formed a constant concern for people.

According to the correspondent of Horrya Press,  Abullatif Tawilo, the regional director of People in Need Organization, has been abducted from his home in the city of Sarmada, north of Idlib, on Saturday at 6 am.

“The body behind the incident is still unknown,” added the correspondent, noting that Tawilo’s house is located next to the Islamic police station of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS), inside the city.

Besides, this was not the first time unknown parties attempt to kidnap Tawilo in the previous few days.

It is worth mentioning that abductions became a daily concern in Idlib, especially as the factions controlling the region are unable to prosecute these groups, or find out the entities behind them.

Reasons for kidnapping usually lie in the financial benefit of the ransom; due to the spread of unemployment, as well as revenge and settling scores among conflicting parties, while activists accuse Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) to be involved in the abductions, as the controlling party in the city.
