Haneen Alsayed – Idlib – Horrya Press:
The coordination of Ma’arat al-Nu’man and the free women of Syria organized a protest on Wednesday, in the Freedom Square in the city, that raised the slogan “Russia and the regime, two sides of a coin”, rejecting the participation of the Russian occupation in the patrols which are said to be deployed in the liberated areas in Northern Syria.
The activist “Om Abdullah Saud”, one of the organizers, said to Horrya Press: “we reject any Russian entry to the liberated areas, we don’t accept their presence among us at all, they are Assad’s partners in killing our children, and we see them only as a brutal enemy.”
“Many activists, including 25 women, participated in this protest, and we held signs that included messages condemning the intensive and barbarian shelling conducted by Assad forces, its militias, and the Russian aggression aircraft, on the northern countryside of Hama, and the southern countryside of Idlib, in addition to the Turkish guarantor’s position, that lacks any reaction to what’s happening!” She added.
Besides, the Russian president “Vladimir Putin” stated, last Saturday, right after the end of Astana 12, that he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of launching a full-scale military operation in Idlib province, north of Syria, however, he pointed out that this operation “is not appropriate in this time.”
It is worth mentioning that, with direct Russian support, Assad forces continue to intensively target the demilitarized zone, where more than 73 area in the countryside of Hama, Idlib and Aleppo were targeted, with more focus on the northern countryside of Hama, and southern countryside pf Idlib, and more than 9,500 civilians were displaced, according to the response coordinators team.
